Top Ten Tuesday (1): 10 Favourite Authors

Created by The Broke and The Bookish
(Check it out!! :D)

Time to narrow down 10 authors... this is difficult because I only have 5 favourite authors. Time to go through pages and pages of books on Goodreads!

10. Christopher Pike
I have read so many Christopher Pike books (especially his old editions). My favourite series by him is the Final Friends. His books give me a strong feeling of nostalgia.
Most recently read book: Master of Murder

9. Katie McGarry
LOVE the Pushing the Limits series. I am not so fond of the first, but the rest are amazing! I love Isaiah and Rachel! I also can't wait for her new book series (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle clubs and West Side Story forbidden love!!).
Most recently read book: Crash Into You

8. Marie Lu
I've only read one book by Marie so far, but it was amazing! I've been meaning to get to the new series and finish Legend, I just haven't had time. But before Legend, I didn't read much action because I always thought action books sucked. But Legend opened me up to a whole bunch of books that are awesome and made up of 95% action! I love it! Thanks, Marie!
Most recently read book: Legend

7. Jenny Han
I have only read the Burn for Burn trilogy, but it was so good I am willing to read anything by her. She creates feeling when you read the books that I just can't seem to get with any other book.
Most recently read book: Ashes to Ashes

6. Kiera Cass
The Selection is a series that I love. I just love it. This is why Kiera just had to be on my list. The series is so good and the characters... The way that Kiera writes is amazing. When I first heard about The Selection, I didn't want to read it. Hunger Games and The Bachelor? No thanks. But now I regret not picking it up earlier. Not a second of the series was boring and she managed to put in enough to make me second guess myself the way America did.
Most recently read book: The One

5. Stephen Chbosky
I know he only wrote one book, but it is still doing strong. That means he certainly did something right. I loved The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It is one of my favourite books (and I don't have a lot). Charlie is a character that I won't soon forget.
Most recently read book: The Perks of Being a Wallflower

4. Jessica Sorensen
I think she is the only NA author I read and actually become extremely excited for her new books. I love her writing style and how all her characters are so different. It makes different books in the series hard to forget. Plus, Kayden!
Most recently read book: Awakening You

3. Diana Gabaldon
She is so high on my list (even though I've only read 2 books) because of the writing style. Her books are looooooong. If you have ever even seen one in store, it's long (between 700-1000 pages each). But it is what she puts in it and your ability to read it as if its 300 pages that makes her good. Plus, she didn't sugarcoat what mosts authors do. She made it real (and I know it's sad, but it is real).
Most recently read book: Dragonfly in Amber

2. Ransom Riggs
His ability to tie creepy, old pictures into a story is amazing. His books (little he has: 2) are amazing. I recommend them to everybody. He searched for images, then makes one of the best books I have ever read. I don't even know how to explain how they make you feel. The books are written amazingly and have an amazing story.
Most recently read book: Hollow City

1. Michelle Hodkin
In the beginning, after reading book one of Mara Dyer, I wasn't a huge fan. But the second book changed everything. I am still trying to figure out how I feel about book 3, but the second book was amazing! It was a game changer and it really showed how skilled of a writer she is. Not to mention that her covers are gorgeous!
Most recently read book: The Retribution of Mara Dyer

    1. Yeah, they're really good! I wish both would write more books! But if they take forever to write a book that amazing, fine by me!

  2. Diana Gabaldon is the best. I can't believe I waited so long to dive into her Outlander world.
